A sudden Pack & Go Trip - I NOW KNOW WHERE I HAIL FROM

Hi Friends

This is the first time i am sharing my experience on this page and request you to comment if there can be improvement. Cheers

Recently, we made a trip down south of India from Chennai on the Road.

Reason - Well it could be any, just that you want to travel.

How did this happen, well interesting

29th Sep. 2018 - Morning

7 a.m - I feel like going on a long drive!!πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘
7.10 a.m - Check for the others' engagement., like Daughter's & Son's Classes etc..
7.15 a.m - Call Dad & Mom (Who reside in the next Street) with this Plan
7.20 a.m - Got the Nod that they are also JoiningπŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
9.30 a.m - We set out on this 600 Kms. Journey on Road

Theme : Well, just created while we planned as "Explore Where we Hail from"

Well, Now that was really an "Instantaneous Pack Up Stuff, isn't it?!!!!"

Important to Know where you hail from :

This time around, the reason was to visit & explore our Ancestors village called "Kalyana Mahadevi, in Tiruvarur District of Tamilnadu. It was my very first trip to this place and was feeling very emotional as i had my entire family with me. Myself, Wife, Daughter, Son , My Dad & Mom.

This is a very small village with around 2500 people population and predominantly Agriculture based with lovely Divine Serenity and is just 7 Kms from Tiruvarur, which happens to be the Major connect from here

It is also understood that the Major Occupants are the local inhabitants and also living cohesively are the Telugu Brahmins Community which resides in the "Agraharam".

KUTHANOOR SARASWATHI TEMPLE

Location Map

Map from Chennai, Tamil Nadu to Arulmigu Saraswathi Temple Koothanur, Kumbakonam Main Road, Koothanur, Tamil Nadu 609503

The Kuthanoor Temple, the abode of Goddess Saraswathi is Located in Tiruvarur District of Tamilnadu (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koothanur_Maha_Saraswathi_Temple). This is about 295Kms from Chennai and 20 Kms from Mayiladuthurai (Also known as Mayavaram).

This is one of the very rare and few temples of Goddess Saraswathi. This is very popular among the Students of all arts that are taking up competitive tests and examinations.

We had been there before reaching Kalyanamahadevi Village as both my kids wanted the grace of Goddess Saraswathi. My Daughter in specific who is going to appear for her CBSE Board Exams in 2019.

What is Unique here.........

Lots of Shops with Class Room Items Selling Pencils, Pens, Exam Pads, Note Books etc. The devotees buy these items and get a Pooja Organised with these at the abode and take the blessings of the Goddess.

All around the exterior walls of the Sanctum Sanctorum, you will find the Exam Registration Numbers scribbled in order to get the attention of the Goddess.

While most Students these days realize that nothing is achieved with out hard work & preparations, it is definitely a good idea to get them focused by being here for the grace of the Goddess.

TAKE AWAYS from the TRIP

This was a very short trip planned instantaneously and some of the take aways are

1) Travelling with Family is always Fun and enjoyable, to add more when it happens instantaneously
2)To see the War footing preparations of the Youngsters in the Family towards the trip is a joy and opportunity to know how good they are.
3)Ideas coming forth from all the Family freaks for the trip
4)Participative Team work from all the Youngsters and also the Elders is at its best on such trips
5)Hearing the Elders share their experiences is very precious for the Kids in their lives to come.
6)Eating together the Home Made Food Packed all the way (Puliohara /Lemon Rice /Curd Rice etc)
is always an experience that todays' generation do not get quite often

Being Critical As Ever....

We were travelling down south all the way within the state of Tamilnadu (which is one of the very advanced States in India) and sad to see the following

1)Roads were good in Patches.
2)Roads in and around the Famous Southern Tanjore Delta (Once the Southern Granary of India) was not good barring few stretches.
3)We still have Railway Crossings hindering the traffic and Subways or Fly Overs is still far away from being thought about.
4)Abundant Number of the Narrow Road Bridges allowing Traffic to flow in only one direction at any point in time, making the Vehicles on other side to wait and waste their precious time.

Having said that, the Glory of the Monuments and Temples in Tamilnadu what with flourishing Rivers (With Water now due to the Rains in Southern India) makes one still take all the chances to be there and enjoy the Good Old Days Ambience with Joy.
